Temperament:
The Grand military macaw is a good-natured bird, easily tamed, when with the right care and socializing. In the wild they are rarely solitary, and dwell in pairs or in flocks of between 10 and 20 birds. And they’re going to take that instinct home with them. Though some may like one individual. Or just guys. Or females. If the bird has been exposed to different people, it could be social to different people.
They can be very friendly for the right owner yet they can also be picky at times. Snappy if they are not pleased or well taught. That is a trait common in macaws and many owners find their bird’s attitude is often a mirror of their own.
